Mainstream churches shy away from independent evangelical churches who allegedly tried to 'convert' Muslim country, said a leader of the Protestant churches.



He told me that the mainstream churches were disappointed with some Christian groups because they do not sensitive to other religious communities when sharing their faith.



"We have cases where Hindus complain about Christians too are demanding," said the leader, adding, Muslims, Buddhists and Sikhs are also making such complaints.

This view emerged during the controversy following the raid of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church near Manila last week on a complaint that there are efforts to convert Muslims.

"Therefore, the churches felt that while they have the right to profess their faith, there should be close cooperation between the church and the attitude of accountability," he said.
